Water & Sewer Rates

General Utilities

The City Budget Committee recommends an annual increase of Water & Wastewater rates. Typically, the increase has been 3% as an attempt to keep up with rising costs to run the utility. A majority of the City's assets are the Water and Wastewater systems. Rates become effective on July 1 of any given year. The City's fiscal year runs from July 1 through June 30 by State Law.

2009

At the regularly scheduled Council meeting on June 23rd of 2009, Council increased the Water Rates by 3% and the Sewer Rates by 5% which is consistent with the regular, annual rate increases over the last few years based on operational costs. The "Other" is for the Sewer Debt Service on the major Wastewater Improvements Project the City just completed as of June 2009. Council is currently working on auditing and reviewing the Water & Sewer operations to plan for future system needs. Please see the Sewer Bond page for more information.
